Microchip’s SST89E516RD is an 8051-based microcontroller, 8-bit, 40MHz, with 72KB program memory and 1KB RAM. It’s pin-to-pin and code-to-code 100% equivalent to NXP’s P89V51RD2. The main advantage of using SST89E516 is its built-in bootloader, allowing serial programming through PC using Easy IAP software. The IC is supported in Keil C51 as SST89X516RD2 for compiling and simulation.
